Overview
Famous for its unique taste, jeoneo, or gizzard shads, are a type of herring delicacy in Korea best enjoyed in the fall. Hongwonhang Port in Seocheon hosts the Jeoneo Festival for visitors to enjoy a fresh catch of this fish served up in a variety of ways. A number of popular dishes range from roasted to sashimi-sliced jeoneo and even salads mixed with spicy marinated jeoneo, cucumbers, sesame leaves, and parsley. The festival opens with exciting performances and a food-tasting event and ends with a spectacular evening fireworks show. Visitors can also taste a variety of other local dishes mad

Taking the trip home
A small Korean brand called kory puts city names on everyday things — hair rollers, hair ties, claw clips, scarves.
We help make kory, so this is not a paid placement — but it is a link we have an interest in. That is why it sits here at the bottom and nowhere else. Product pages and the shop home are in English; a few other pages there are still Korean only.
